Pipe Bursting
Pipe bursting is a cost-effective way to repair a without the need for extensive excavation. The method involves digging two small points at each end of the pipe section, with one being next to the property and the other next to the street-side plumbing.
A bursting head is inserted into one end of the old pipe and connected to a hydraulic system that pulls it through the old pipe, breaking it apart and pushing the pieces into the surrounding soil. In the meantime, a new pipe is attached to the back of the bursting head and pulled through the same space, taking the place of the old pipe.
